An international move is a use of steamship lines or airline cargo to overseas, for your Household goods and personal effects (HHG/PE). The use of container, lift van) wooden crate or wrap pallets.
It is determined by the amount you are shipping. This is measured by cubic feet, cubic meter or total weight. The cost is also dependent on the final destination. Other factors which affect the total cost of your international move may be: packing services, cargo insurance, and storage services.
Use of a container for your container for your shipment, will determined by the volume of your shipment. If you have more than 900 CFT (cubic feet) you will probably need a 20' container. If you have more than 1,600 Cubic Feet you will probably need a 40' container. Also there is a way to fit a car to 40' container along with HHG/PE but sometimes is less costly to ship it separately.
Please note that container needs to be clear in 5 to 7 days from the port other wise you will pay extra fees. You have to have a place to put you HHG/PE at once. Lift van can be stored up to 30 days free of charge. Please ask the international moving company about all the possibilities.
Consolidation of a smaller shipment with other overseas shipments is less costly.
